Born in the outskirts of Chicago and raised in Wisconsin, I reside in Washington DC working as a CDI in the educational field. My work puts me in touch with wonderful people who are DeafBlind and emerging signers.
In my all-Deaf residential school we worked at a printshop and learned about film photography and printing. Also, throughout college I worked in a darkroom… then digital cameras and iPhones showed up, and now we have Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Using Procreate, I sketch together ideas for print, a rough version of what I want to create, then transfer that to a linocut sheet for etching. With reduction prints, each color will require it’s own batch of prints before etching to keep the previous color. The last batch of printing usually is black color.
